Lucilla

This print was published as a decorative calendar print.
The calendars became very popular, and amongst ardent Russell Flint collectors they have been treasured,
not as a commercial investment, but for the beauty of the work.
Unfortunately the inks and papers used were not acid free or light fast so unfortunately many and faded and in poor condition.
There is no value to this print.
It is quite similar to a nunmber of signed limited edition prints, and is a most beautiful painting of Cecilia reclining.
I would assume that this painting was composed in Russell Flint's Campden studio, the back drop of Spanish mountains
and scenery with Lucilla (Cecilia Green) the gypsy girl reclining in a state of reflection in the foreground.
Her silk skirt appears to shimmer in the light, in contrast to the far away mist hills in the back ground.
