The style of the dress and hair gives the impression it is one of Russell Flint's earlier paintings.
Being exhibited in 1937 would confirm that.
It looks very much like the north-east coast , Northumberland...?
Which was a favorouite of Russell Flint for capturing the unique light as it reflected on the sea and beach.
A couple of years before WWII when he became the official war artist, the country was undoubtedly preparing itself for the arduous task to come.
