The river Dronne runs through the centre of this most picturesque town, Brantome, in the South West of France, Dordogne.

Brantome is known as the 'Venice of Dordogne', plenty of touristy shops, selling local produce, a good selection of bars, cafés, and restauants, mainly of a high standard.
The town is dominated by an enormous monastery, built in white stone, that is really the centre of the town, with the river Dronne runing around the town.
Brantome is a very pleasant town, and well worth a visit if you are passing nearby.
The summer months can get quite busy with sightseers and people fishing and canoeing on the river, but warm sunshine is not overbearing and makes for a pleasant stroll.
This original was painted by Francis Murray Russell Flint, Sir William Russell Flint's son,
who also painting 'My Father Painting at Brantome' which was published as a signed limited edition print.
