La Marie, Manosque
Original painting

by

Sir William Russell Flint

original watercolour, La Marie, Manosque , sir william russell flint

Perhaps this is the most misquoted title of all, even appearing in a later catalogue issued by the publisher as 'Marie Manosque'.
It is of course the interior of the office of the Mayor -
La Marie, at the Hotel de Ville in the walled medieval town of Manosque.

Although the building has been restored since its original construction many parts still hold true to the original building and can be visited.

Alpes de Haute Provence.
The classic French clock is still there (or at least the empty long-case is) silently watching the comings and goings of this little Provencal town.
