This composition of several poses was noted as one of sir William Russell Flints favoured works. He has been quoted saying "We have all seen countless sheets of studies in chalk,
pen and wash and all sorts of media but seldom if ever in water-colour. On paper toned by myself it has been interesting to build up these groups unhurriedly and carefully."
And here lies the main attraction to this set of water-colours in that they are not rushed, and the enjoyment taken over working on the variations is quite clear. A compilation of his favourite pieces.
Recognized worldwide as a master of watercolour painting, Sir William Russell Flint's work enjoys the prominence of some of the finest and most experienced paintings of our time.
