Cecilia was the model in many of Russell Flints paintings ranging from large compilations to single studies.
Examples of which are Studies of CeciliaCecilia in June.
The style of watercolour painting that Russell Fint developed over his long history as a professional artist was quite remarkable.
He was able to portray everyday features such as a wall or a sheet of material with great subtlelty, that no one has ever managed to ssurpass.
His days as a war artist (before the age of cameras) may have gone a long way to help develop this technique,
as it was vitaly important that he recorded visually everything he saw in as much detail as possible.
